What are you passionate about….at work? Is passion something for life apart from work?
It’s easy to decide what you don’t like about work. Deciding what you can do and do because it’s part of your job is straightforward. What are you good at and enjoy doing? And finally what are you passionate about?
Some stuff we have always been good at and it came easy. Some stuff we enjoy doing but may not be good at….or may be good at. It took some work to develop competence. If only we could identify what we feel strongly positive about doing and do it more. It would be like working but not working. If it’s good enough for elite sports people, actors, volunteers, gardeners, pet shelter staff….it’s good enough for everyone. What you don’t like doing, someone else will. One person’s pureed cabbage is another’s health shake. Let’s swap jobs or attitudes.
It is possible to be passionate about parts of your job. Maybe the whole job will follow later. You will live longer and enjoy Mondays as much as Fridays.
Identify what you find most enjoyable about your job and do more of it. If you can’t identify anything that is enjoyable, have a lie down and think again. If you still can’t, find another job.
