How can not speaking be powerful?

Have you ever spoken and wished you hadn’t? You thought of a better response afterwards. Sometimes a quick response is appropriate. Sometimes not. If you pause, you are more likely to engage your whole brain and calculate the response to what you are about to say. Often the quick response doesn’t allow time to think about a likely reaction. Try counting to three before responding for a week. Take a breath before replying to any questions. Practise in the evenings when a caller asks if you are the owner of the house.
