Why you do something is way more important than what you do or how you do it. Why is also harder to grasp. Why do we work? Some people work to get money to live. Some work to serve the community. Some work to save lives. Saving lives will generate its own energy. We also like to do business with companies who share our beliefs. Apple push the envelope. Dyson are creative. Lexus are reliable. We are attracted to organisations that have beliefs like ours.
So when presenting, explain why before what. Present on topics that you are enthusiastic about. Share your values and beliefs. Trust your gut feel.
People don’t buy what you do. They buy why you do it. Tell them… honestly.
