Have you ever noticed how your brain wants to rush from a specific to a general. You were late this time. You are always late. You helped me this time. You never let me down.  This seems a little lazy and risky don’t you think?

It is possible to stay with specifics and the present with a little effort. Hold the judgement. Take an umbrella but don’t expect rain because of last time. Same for listening to the opinions of others in relation to a new job or a new manager. Hold the judgement until you see for yourself.

Stay with specifics and the present as long as you can. It is your reality. Trust it. If you feel the need to make the judgement that this person is now in the arrogant category, take a breath and reserve your judgement.
