Probably not possible to expect nothing. It is natural to have expectations or others. But. We often get what we expect. Bad news when we expect the worst. An alternative to expecting is to hold the expectation. Don’t get ahead of yourself. Stay with what is happening. Get what you get. Stay in the present. If the thought ‘I was expecting more,’ arrives in your mind, let it stay in the waiting room while you keep working in your office. You don’t have to ruminate or invite the thought into your inner sanctum. So try this for a week. Expect nothing or if you like expecting, expect what you get.
